Start with Checking the Weak Areas of Your Website

No website is 100% perfect. There are always some weak areas in every website. If you’re the website owner, take another look at your website with a critical eye or get a friend to take a look and get his opinion. See which areas of the website need improvement on the front end and then implement the changes. (And if you are not the webmaster, that is ok, send the changes over to your web guy or girl and put them to work. Just a few hours and few dollars can make a big difference in your bottom line.)

Easy Changes to Increase Your Website’s SEO

  • Fix any broken links in the website
  • Provide relevant descriptions for each image
  • Create a sitemap to help users as well as search engines
  • Use catchy and descriptive page titles and title tags

Simplify Your Website’s Complex Sections

Search engines do not like complex websites with difficult to navigate structures. Keep your website simple by creating pages that clearly show which services you provide. The idea is to give your readers, as well as search engines, a website structure that is easy to navigate. Make sure your website is mobile friendly.

  • Segregate the services you provide to different pages based on location
  • Have a clear and concise description of your services
  • Create links in the content that point to relevant pages and posts
  • Keep NAP (Name, Address, and Phone Number) information the same on all pages

Tips to Create Useful and Interesting Content

Your website’s content is the most effective factor that contributes to the website’s rankings in search engine result pages. There are many ways to go about creating content, but instead of filling the page with keywords, aim at providing useful and relevant information to the readers. When readers realize that they’re reading something written for people and not a search engine, they will visit your website again and again.

  • Solve a problem that readers might be facing
  • Integrate the keywords that readers would search for on Google
  • Simplify complex ideas for readers
  • Tell readers something new

While many people look at SEO as something left only for experts, you can include elements of basic SEO without any technical knowledge in your writing. And, hey, if your not the person that actually puts the blog post or page on the website, that is ok. You still can and should include SEO into your writing style. The more you do it, the better you will get at it. We all started somewhere.
