One of the many things that is often overlooked by new entrepreneurs and business owners is the follow up process. Far too often it is assumed that because you made contact with someone they are going to do business with you right away. The reality is that it typically will take on average 5 points of contact before someone makes a buying decision.
Think about that for a moment, if you only contact your prospects two or three times, how much money are you leaving on the table?
Of course in today’s world we are inundated with such a wide variety of communications that it is easy for a message to get lost in the shuffle. So how do you make sure the message gets to your prospects?
Traditionally when people think of follow up, most will do it with either a phone call or a post card, but did you know it’s possible to use video to follow up with your prospects? By leveraging video in your follow up process, especially if its custom to its recipient shows that you took extra time to follow up with them.
4 Spectacular Ways to Follow Up With Prospects Using Video
1. Video MMS
Because 90% of text messages are read within 5 minutes of receiving them, this is a fast way to ensure the recipient receives your message. This method is by far the simplest method to utilize as it simply requires you to use the camera on your smartphone.
2. Video Email
This method has been around for a while, but only recently has it become a simple way to respond to people. Just as you would send a Video MMS, you can simply attach the video you took on your smartphone to an email. This is a great way to follow up with someone if you only know their email address and not their mobile number.
3. Facebook Messenger
If you are connected to someone on Facebook, sending a video to them via messenger is a great way to reinforce that relationship. Also, since most people spend at least an hour a day on Facebook, it is fairly certain that they will see your message.
4. Facebook Ads
If you are not connected to someone directly on Facebook, another way, which is a bit more technical, is to leverage video ads on Facebook to put your follow up message in their newsfeed. If you are trying to demonstrate your social media prowess, this method will definitely get their attention. You will need their email address and some techy skills to use this method.
Regardless of whether or not you decide to use video in your follow up process, the most important thing that you can do is to actually follow up. If you don’t, there is one thing that is certain and that is if you do not follow up, one of your competitors will.
If you are using video right now in your follow up process, how has it helped you close more business?
