Making the Most of Social Media

SEM, SEO, PPC, SMM and if you don’t know what all that means, it’s a TKO for your brand. In digital marketing, as in life, many disjointed pieces come together to make a masterpiece. Taking control of your brand’s identity and giving it a “personality” all its own has never been easier in the age of social media.

But it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. In this workshop, you’ll walk through the finer points of social media optimization for three major channels, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

A presence on social media does not guarantee traffic or success. A strategic approach, catered to your targeted audiences, on the social channels they frequent, is essential to winning in this wired world. Lissa and John will cut through the algorithms and tech talk to give you practical points to win.

Meet the co-presenter, John Nosal.

Justin Liles, Google My Business WorkshopJustin Liles is the Chief Product Officer for Advice Local, where he leads a team of more than 650 people. He has overseen the submission of more than 4 million business listings to directory sites through the company’s proprietary listings management technology.

Justin began his career in Internet marketing in May 2009, selling online visibility services and quickly mastering the processes of how businesses were placed on major search engines, and best practices, helping those businesses dominate their local search area.

Justin was originally a contractor at Advice, through his own company, working in the trenches to handle the setup and optimization of Google My Business local business listings. In November 2011, Justin’s company was acquired by Advice, allowing him the opportunity to move up through the ranks to his current C-level position.

With degrees from Temple University, University of San Francisco and Full Sail University, he is well versed in sound business practices and all facets of Internet marketing, which he continues his learning in by reading one chapter, everyday, from various industry books. When he is not “incognito” with search and local SEO, you can find him practicing martial arts, hanging at the closest beach or spending time with the people he loves.

Speaking in Small Rooms with Confidence

Most public speaking does not occur on a stage with a large crowd, big screen, and microphone. In many cases, public speaking occurs in front of a small group in a small room. It might be your clients, prospects, stakeholders or people on your team. The dynamics of small rooms and a small crowd significantly change your public speaking approach.

When your public speaking occurs close-up, you have several exciting challenges and opportunities. In this talk, we will look at the importance of:

  • Preparation with long or short-notice
  • Presentation delivery and room dynamics
  • What to consider when speaking to executives
  • Keeping the conversation alive

All of this is designed to make sure you own the room the next time you have to stand-up in a small room.
