But, are you really sure about that? I challenge you to continue reading and reflect on yourself and the actions you take each day.
Before I dive into this more, what does “Dog Eat Dog” mean to you?
According to Merriam-Webster:
— used to describe a situation in which people compete with each other for success in a cruel and selfish way.
It’s a dog-eat-dog business we’re in.

One of the best ways to succeed in life and business, or succeed in anything you do, is to help others build their success. Today I am going to name 5 things you can do to help others that will cost you absolutely nothing accept your time.
My 5 Secrets to Succeeding In Life And Business
1. Encourage Others With a Kind Word
This means compliment them on something they do well. We have all heard the phrase “a good woman can make or break a man”. This is so true – of men and women. I have personally seen lots of good men and women not reach their true level of success until they get rid of the albatross that is holding them back – people that only offer discouraging words and negativity. (Btw…I speak from experience. My business soared once I got rid of my albatross.)
2. Lend A Helping Hand
This could be spending an hour of your time reviewing a website, reading a blog or creating a graphic. This could even be something as simple as commenting on a social media post. This doesn’t mean spend all your time helping others, you do have to make a living. It means helping those you can. This is a win / win. The more you do for others the more others want to do for you. Contribute to your local communities.
3. Follow the Golden Rule
This means “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I am going to add here that this doesn’t mean “do as they did to you”. What I mean specifically is don’t talk bad or degrade other people to their peers, coworkers, or even complete strangers. This often times has a reverse effect and really just makes you look bad instead.
4. What Goes Around Comes Around
This means everyone will get what they deserve, including you. If you are a good person and do good things you will have success. If you, or someone else, does bad things you will most likely fail until you change your attitude.
I am not saying you should be oblivious to others if they do harm to you, your reputation or someone you care about. Take notice, show caution in the future and refer to #3. You don’t need to be the one that provides justice. Everyone gets what he or she deserves eventually. Move forward in your success and don’t worry about others.
5. Be the Resource
This is a big one and has so many meanings. What I mean is to be the person that people what to reach out to for a question, a referral, some friendly advice or just a great big smile. This isn’t an easy role to fill, but a very important one.
People ask me what I attribute to my success. #5 is my secret to everything I have accomplished. I could tell you countless stories that relate directly to being available to others and how taking one tiny minute to support someone else has attributed to getting me to where I am today, has kept me at the top of mind for many and also how I am recommended time and again.
I could go on and on with this list, but decided to keep it to just the top 5 that will push you forward to succeed in life and business. I can’t wait to read your comments and see what you would add to the list.
